Honolulu Airport Guide

There are three terminals available at Honolulu Airport: Main Overseas Terminal (Gates 6-34), Interisland Terminal (Gates 49-61) and Commuter Terminal (Gates 62-80).

There is a special bus service that connects the terminals and they are called ‘Wiki Wiki” buses. At the Main Overseas Terminal, the U.S. international as well as domestic flights are handled while the Interisland Terminal serves flights from the surrounding islands in Hawaii and departuring flights to international destinations via Hawaiian Airlines. Smaller airlines are handled by the Commuter Terminal. Honolulu Airport has four main runways.

Given the fact that the Honolulu Airport is split in three different terminals, it’s going to be much easier for you to find your way through the entire building using the following map of the terminals.

At Honolulu Airport, there are lounges provided by the airline companies that are flying to and from Honolulu such as Air Canada, Air New Zealand, American Airlines or Air Japan. There is a Garden Court area, as well as two lounges provided by Japan Airlines: Sakura lounge and JAL lounge.

Shops, Bars and Restaurants

Most of the restaurants and bars that you can find at the Main Overseas Terminal while a snack-serving bar is available at the Commuter Terminal. There are also several eating places located in the Interisland Terminal. When it comes to purchasing gifts and souvenirs, you are able to find a duty-free shop at the Main Overseas Terminal.

Money Exchange, Bank and ATMs

At Honolulu Airport, you can find several ICE currency services USA offices in the central lobby, at the Diamond Head end, at the Ewa end of Airport, in the International Arrivals area or in the International Tour Group Arrivals area.

The central lobby and Diamond Head end offices are open from 7:30 AM to noon while the offices located in the International Arrivals areas start their schedules from 6 AM to noon and the office situated at the Ewa end of Airport is open from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

There are also several ATMs available at Honolulu Airport

  • American Savings Bank (one located at the 2nd level of Overseas Terminal and one at the 2nd level of Interisland Terminal),
  • Bank of Hawaii (two situated at the Overseas Terminal and one at the Interisland Terminal),
  • First Hawaiian Bank (one at Interisland Terminal and one outside Foreign Arrivals),
  • a Cardtronics ATM in baggage claim H at the Ground Level and
  • an ATM Bank Machine located at the 2nd level of the Overseas Terminal.
